YOUR FIRST OFFICE VISIT
On your first visit to our office you will be greeted by our front desk receptionist. We will ask you to fill out our history and intake form provided by clicking on the New Patient Information Form link above. This form gives us a general idea about yourself and your condition.
Next, you will meet with either Dr. Alison Behnke or Dr. Kristen Harris in a one-on-one consultation. During this consultation we will discuss your complete health history to be able to fully understand your condition. We will also discuss any concerns you may have regarding the visit or future treatment. The first visit is designed so that the doctor is able to get to know you, learn about your condition, and discuss your health care goals as they relate to chiropractic care.
Following the history, the Doctor will then perform and exam to further assess your condition. The exam process consists of computerized neurological assessment (surface EMG), postural analysis, range of motion testing, reflexes, and other orthopedic tests that help us determine the source of your dis-ease. If you have any questions during any part of the visit, do not hesitate to ask, they are expected and we want to make sure you understand each part of the visit. Our goal is to provide all the facts to each patient regarding their condition so they may make the best informed decision to properly care for themselves.
If your condition requires the use of x-rays to complete your evaluation we will take the appropriate steps in doing so. Many conditions do not require x-rays to be taken, but if needed it is a quick and painless procedure.
Finally you will speak with our Chiropractic Assistant again to schedule another appointment with one of the doctors in order for us to go over the results of your exam. It is highly recommended that you bring your significant other to this appointment for support and understanding of your case.
YOUR SECOND OFFICE VISIT
When you have completed your first visit, consisting of consultation, examination and, computerized neurological assessment we will be able to answer four main questions:
1. Will chiropractic help me?
Dr. Alison Behnke and Dr. Kristen Harris are highly trained to determine whether or not your condition is one that chiropractic can help. If necessary, we work openly with other healthcare professionals to assure you receive the appropriate and optimal care possible.
2. What is causing my problem?
We will summarize your exam findings, explain the computer analysis and explain to you what we believe is causing your health condition.
3. How long will it take?
The duration of care depends upon how long your body and nervous system has not been functioning optimally, past injuries (if any), and your health goals. It is truly different for each individual. We will give you estimates based upon other practice members with similar health conditions.
4. How much will it cost?
We will be straight forward with you on the cost of care. Practice members in our clinic are happy to find out that our rates are reasonable and affordable, whether you have insurance coverage or not. We work with many insurance companies and would just need to call to determine the amount of coverage you have.
Your first adjustment, should you decide to start care, will occur immediately after the results of your examination have been given and financial arrangements have been made. Should you have any additional questions regarding getting adjusted please check out the frequently asked questions page on the website.
We look forward to helping you and your family experience a lifetime full of optimal health and well-being!
